NT Wright, in his book Surprised by Hope, takes on this false, unbiblical view of hope:

from surprised by hope today: Many Christians embraced what they called the social gosepl, trying to put into practice in society the promises of the Christian message. An enormous amount of good work was done by this means, though after a century of it we now all know that it isn't the full answer.

Two things.

II. Just because we have facebook and the ability to ensure that every single human being on planet earth knows Joseph Kony's name does not...sadly and surrenduringly so...change the fact that evil does exist and that the problems are so easily solved.

And secondly. Jesus please come. Do the Good that we are too small to do. We are incapable.
Protect us from sins of indifference and sins of taking control.

Protect us from the White Man's Burden, and give us wisdom about your present and coming Justice, of your faithfulness.
